The various research projects in our laboratory share the common mission of developing synthetic methods for the preparation of biologically active compounds by structure and component modification of selected validated molecules. The final end of ongoing work is the discovery of improved or new properties . Hence our synthetic efforts are made with a view to the need in other fields of research, with particular emphasis to glycobiology and heterocyle-based bioorganic chemistry. A main feature in our chemistry is the performance of key processes in simple and efficient manner. Toward this end, modern synthetic tools and approaches are employed such as heterocyle-based transformations, multicomponent reactions, organocatalysis, click azide-alkyne cycloadditions, reactions in ionic liquids, photoinduced free-radical reactions
